Job Description
We are looking for a highly motivated Environmental Programme and Project Officer committed to environmental conservation. This person will be responsible for coordinating, managing and implementing environmental projects in line with the organisation's strategic objectives, collaborating with various stakeholders and ensuring effective delivery of results.
Main Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage environmental and cultural projects in all their phases: from planning to implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
- Design project proposals in collaboration with the technical team, ensuring coherence with the NGO's strategic objectives.
- Monitor and manage budgets, schedules and resources to ensure compliance with deadlines and quality of deliveries.
- Provide price quotes and coordinate logistics for events.
- Prepare technical and financial reports on projects, addressed to donors and funders.
- Develop relationships with key stakeholders, including local governments, NGOs, businesses and communities, to strengthen and expand programmes.
- Conduct environmental and social impact analysis of the projects executed.
- Identify new funding opportunities and collaborate in the drafting of proposals for national and international funds.
- Ensure compliance with current environmental regulations.
- Participate in environmental awareness and education activities.
Requirements
- University degree in areas related to the environment: Environmental Sciences, Sustainable Development, Administration or similar.
- Proven experience of at least 1 year in the management of environmental projects.
- Solid knowledge in conservation, climate change, natural resource management, or sustainable development.
- Skills in writing and preparing technical and financial reports.
- Experience in seeking and managing funds and grants.
- Ability to work in a team and independently in dynamic environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Mastery of English and Dutch.
Desirable
- Experience working with NGOs or international cooperation institutions.
- Knowledge of environmental public policies and regulatory frameworks.

Terms and Conditions:
This position is to join our team of volunteers who wish to be part of the Embrace the Earth organizational body. Therefore, this is not a paid position. Our volunteers are expected to commit to working remotely 2 hours daily with some sporadic visits when the events are taking place. Likewise, the transportation costs will be financed by the institution. The ideal for our organisation is to find volunteers who wish to be part of it on a long-term basis, however, applications for unpaid internships are also a possibility. Let us know in your motivation letter what is best for you.
The minimum duration of the internship is 3 months.
English is the official language of the organization but for this position, Dutch is required.
